Job Overview
We are seeking qualified Nurse Practitioners to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for our nation’s Veterans. In this role, you will conduct one-time, non-treatment evaluations to help Veterans receive the benefits they deserve.
This is a flexible, ongoing PRN/Per Diem opportunity. You can choose to perform exams at a designated facility or schedule Veterans within your own existing practice.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform one-time, non-treatment C&P examinations and separation health assessments.
  • Conduct interview-based exams with physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Complete and submit standardized Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of the exam.
  • Review medical records and provide administrative follow-up, such as medical opinions or addendums, as required.
  • Utilize a goniometer and demonstrate proficiency in evaluating musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
Qualifications
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or general medicine.
  • Experience with Compensation and Pension exams is highly preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions (including METs testing).
  • Must have a personal laptop (PC-based; Mac is not compatible with reporting software).
  • Ability to complete required DMA certification and orientation training prior to starting.
Schedule & Setting
  • Location: Southeast United States
  • Flexible Hours: Options for half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts.
  • Frequency: Ongoing need for approximately one day per week.
  • No Treatment: This role is strictly for evaluations; there is no prescribing or ongoing patient care involved.
Why This Opportunity?
This role offers a streamlined onboarding process and the chance to serve the Veteran community with a flexible schedule that fits your lifestyle. Comprehensive training on reporting and DBQs is provided to ensure your success.
If you are a detail-oriented clinician looking for a predictable, evaluation-based role, we encourage you to apply.
